 Re: Music Thread - Random!
Jazzy, I said no cheating! Half the point is discovering the music people love but are embarrassed to admit to!
And, to be fair, my next five:
4th of July - Soundgarden - Superunknown Mainstreet - Bob Seger - Greatest Hits Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard - Greatest Hits Gallows Pole - Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin III Seeds of Life - Seven Nations - The Pictou Sessions - An Acoustic Album
Again, not bad, if not a perfect example of my music choices. I remain surprised at the lack of metal coming up in these shuffles, given that close to a third of my collection is Opeth, Iced Earth, Demons & Wizards, Amon Amarth ... ah, well. Perhaps in a future shuffle.
Soundgarden was (is?) one of my favorites of the grunge/Alternative bands of the late 80's through early 90s, I enjoyed their particular flavor far more than I ever did Nirvana.
Bob Seger is a classic, purebred rock and roller - there's hardly a bad word that can be said of his music. Night Moves would've been a higher pick for me, as would Turn the Page, but such is life with a random playlist.
Led Zeppelin, I think we've talked about enough in guild to establish that they are one of, if not the, greatest rock bands to ever have graced the airwaves. More's the pity about Bonzo, who knows what the Zep might've created had their time together not been cut short.
Seven Nations is a rock band with a decidedly Celtic flavor to their music, right down to the bagpipes and fiddle. Just an awesome, awesome sound to the group, easily one of my favorite bands that are generally 'lesser known.'
The Def Leppard is a bit of a guilty passion of mine - one of the few glam bands I can stand, and props must be given to a drummer who can rock as hard as Rick Allen does with only one arm.
And, well, yeah. Random playlist #2!

 Re: Music Thread - Random!
Okay here goes!
1. Mogwai - Glasgow Mega-Snake 2. Andrea Bocelli - Sogno 3. Toots & The Maytals - Pressure Drop 4. The Knux - Big Bang! 5. Luciano Pavarotti - Pagliacci: "Vesti La Guibba"
Okay! A great random I'd say. Good music all around.
Mogwai is just an amazing group. Producing great sound for quite awhile. I really enjoy instrumental music.
Andrea Bocelli and Luciano Pavarotti are both fantastic vocalists. I also like opera and classical music very much. These two are very fine singers.
Toots & The Maytals are legends in reggae and their music is still good. Pressure Drop is a great song.
The Knux! Woohoo, I love when rap and hip hop is done right. Great sound, great preformers, great lyrics, great everything. I buy tickets just to see these guys open for some lame band. *cough* Moving Units *cough*

 Re: Music Thread - Random!
Hats off to (Roy) Harper - Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin III (Really, I've got more than just III on my mp3 player!)
Cat Scratch Fever - Ted Nugent
Danger Zone - Kenny Loggins - Top Gun Soundtrack
Tightrope - Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble
Whiskey Girl - Toby Keith - Shock'n Y'all
There's not much country I listen to, but there's a few Toby Keith songs that I enjoy as guilty pleasures.
